Prom = Overated

I was right. Prom was nothing special. There was no famous performer, (But, we had Fatz da Big Guy adlib on the microphone over 3 different beats for like 10 mins) no giant feeling of greatness overwhelming everyone, no "magic", no nothin yung. (The ladies in there were all on point I must say.) I mean this event is put on sucha high pedistool, the media portrays it to be like the second coming of Jesus. (blame MTV) It was iiiight at most to me. Thank god for the homies, cuz without them the whole night woulda been a bust. (They are clutch like Robert Horry in the 4th with 0.08 remaining.) After party was poppin. I'll remember the after party before I remember the prom. Others may feel different. Oh well...

Thoughts On Prom

I fail to see the point in this event. Yes its the last dance, party, etc. for seniors. So to celebrate the occasion we spend money on frivolous things that I could really care less about. (Suit, limo, etc.) OK we party in a well-controlled environment, i.e. a nice hotel. I could really care less about that too. Why? For one I NEVER wear a suit. (Except for funerals) Second I really think the money used for prom could go towards something that I could use/actually want/ something I could have much more fun with. ( A trip, sneakers, a less formal event, etc.) I'd rather go to a regular party in which I can be comfortable in my normal clothes, and it doesn't have all of this redundant, cliche, stipulations that come along with it. (i really don't like how high of a pedistool this event is put on.) But they say "don't knock it til you try it." Prom is tommorow.......
