Thoughts On Prom

I fail to see the point in this event. Yes its the last dance, party, etc. for seniors. So to celebrate the occasion we spend money on frivolous things that I could really care less about. (Suit, limo, etc.) OK we party in a well-controlled environment, i.e. a nice hotel. I could really care less about that too. Why? For one I NEVER wear a suit. (Except for funerals) Second I really think the money used for prom could go towards something that I could use/actually want/ something I could have much more fun with. ( A trip, sneakers, a less formal event, etc.) I'd rather go to a regular party in which I can be comfortable in my normal clothes, and it doesn't have all of this redundant, cliche, stipulations that come along with it. (i really don't like how high of a pedistool this event is put on.) But they say "don't knock it til you try it." Prom is tommorow.......
